1. "Singing to the Rings" - The feast is organized by the municipality of Pirdop and the local non-governmental organization Club "Rodolubie". It takes place on the first day of the New Year in "Skalata" square. Women and girls in national costumes sing traditional songs around a decorated cornel-tree. Children and girls drop rings or other small objects in a copper pot full of water and wheat grains. The priest sanctifies the water and blesses the people.

A young girl takes out the rings (objects) from the pot one by one and an adult, man or woman, makes wishes about the future of the ring's owner. The feast ends with traditional dances. Before going home everyone takes a piece of the cornel-tree which will be kept until the next feast.

2. Pirdop's Winter Day - anniversary of the Liberation of the town - the celebration is organized by the Municipality every year on 03 January, on the day when the local people welcomed the Russian army which liberated the town from the Ottoman rule in 1878. Pirdop is a birthplace of one of the members of Hristo Botev's group of rebels and 37 Opalchentsi (volunteers, who took part in the Russo-Turkish War). A monument in their honour was built at the place where the local people welcomed the Russian Army. Representatives of the local institutions and political parties lay wreaths and flowers at the monument. Wreaths are also laid at the monument of Captain Mihail Batorski - a Russian officer who died of typhus on 3 January 1878 and was buried in the churchyard. The procession continues with laying wreaths and flowers at the monument of Todor Vlaikov - a teacher, public figure and writer, an honorary citizen of Pirdop. The feast ends with a concert in the concert hall.

3. Winter Sport and Tourism Day in "Borova Gora" area - organized by the municipality of Pirdop and Tourist Club "Paskal". It is held every year on the last Saturday of February. Different types of games and races are organized - horse races, tug-of-war (rope pulling), and others. The winners receive cash and object prizes. People can have complimentary herbal tea. A brass band cheers up the public.

4. May Cultural Festival Vlaikov's Days - It is organized by the municipality of Pirdop every year during the second and third week of May and traditionally ends on 24 May with a concert on the square in front of the cultural club (chitalishte) "Napreduk". Performers from all schools and cultural clubs in the town take part in the festival. Every local school is given the possibility to make a performance for the public. Members of Club "Rodolubie" perform scenes of the life of the local people from the past in Lukanov's House Museum. Guest-performances from Sofia and other towns, exhibitions of paintings and wooden carvings, promoting new books of local writers are traditional for the festival.

5. Saint Peter's Day (Pertrovden) - the village of Doushantsi's fair. It is usually held on the first Saturday after St. Peter and Pavel's Day (29 June) on a glade near the Doushantsi Dam Lake. The feast is organised by the municipality of Pirdop and Doushantsi. Guests from all over the country come to the village. There is a concert, music, dances and kurban (boiled mutton - an animal sacrifice of a sheep) for the local people and all the guests.

6. Ilinden (St. Elijah's Day) - it is organized by the church board of "Sveto Uspenie Bogorodichno" (Dormition of the Theotokos) and is held in Elensko - an area near the ruins of the Early-Christian basilica from the end of 5th and at the beginning of the 6th century. In the centre of the altar there is a stone cross with a carving which says that the day has been celebrated since 1893. The priest sanctifies water, kurban and blesses the people. In the past groups of people from the nearby villages used to come to the feast with their brass bands and they competed in playing. The competition, as the old people say, continued two or three days.

7. Pirdop's Summer Fair - organized by the municipality in Elensko on the first Saturday of August. People from all the villages nearby Pirdop and people born in Pirdop but not living here come for the fair. Music, dances (hora) and kurban are typical for that day, in the past wrestling was organized and the prize for the winner was a ram.

The guests have the opportunity to visit the ruins of the Elenska basilica and to get to know its history. According to the historians the place is an old Thracian sanctuary. There is a myth about a deer coming down from the mountain on the day of the feast. There was a church known as the monastery "St. Ilia" (St. Elijah ) centuries ago at that place. It was destroyed about 1700 by the Turkish army. The river Elenska flowing close to the basilica was a boundary between the Principality of Bulgaria and Eastern Rumelia from 1878 to 1885.

8. Sveto Uspenie Bogorodichno (Dormition of the Theotokos) - patron saint of the church - organized by the church board every year on 15 August. The oldest church in the region gives to its laity and guest kurban and invites them to light a candle and say a prayer. The celebration continues with a Divine Liturgy.
